Chris leans her head against Jack's shoulder as he carries her into his room. She has managed to stop giggling.

"Night sweetheart," he says, wrapping an arm around her, listening to her breathing as she falls asleep.

Sleep isn't as easy to come by for him though. He lies awake for a while, just holding Chris and wondering why it's so damned hard to break through the fog that he's been in the last couple days. Why his girlfriend can come on to him and he can't reach out and take what she's offering.

He closes his eyes for a moment and sighs. He's not going to get to sleep anytime soon, he can tell. Carefully he extricates himself from her arms and dresses again, before heading back down to the bar for a while.
