Honor.
That was something that she had always believed in. She was raised to believe that serving her country was a worthwhile cause. A noble cause.
Her father gave years of his life to his country. She did. Her brother did. They all sacrificed because they believed in something bigger than themselves.
Even though she knew the darker sider of their work, even though she knew the risks she had never thought they would be so cruely betrayed.
Her father was murdered and it was just swept under the rug. No investigation. No trial. No punishment. No retribution.
Just lies.
Her father's sacrifice was never even acknowledged. Her family's pain was forgotten. They were all forgotten. Those responsible - they never paid. They still had their reputations, their freedom, their lives.
For all their talk of justice and integrity - they had never admitted to what they'd done.
Cowards.
