Chris rolls over in bed, trying to hide from the creeping sun. Suddenly she's sitting up in bed looking for the clock, certain that she's slept through the alarm because it's so sunny out and it must be later in the morning than...

Then she finds the clock, realizes she still has a good while before she has to get up and sighs with relief. Collapsing onto the bed, she pulls the covers over her head and goes back to sleep.

"You were thinking of transferring to CTU-LA earlier..." Michelle puts down her coffee. "We don't have time now, but I...there's something else I need to discuss with you."

Regardless of what Jack said, Michelle thinks there's something wrong about the entire situation. He might not want to face the truth, but she's not sure that the danger's entirely passed.

Chris takes one last sip of coffee before putting the mug down for good. That would have to double for breakfast till she could get a snack at work.

"Ok," she says slowly. "Is there something wrong?"

Aside from everything else, of course.

"No. We'll talk about it when there's time."

Because she knows it won't be a short conversation.

She stands, suddenly aware that a day will come in the future when a simple task like standing will be more difficult.

"All right," Chris says with a nod, not entirely sure she believes that but she won't press the issue now.

She also gets to her feet. "Listen, if you want to talk more later tonight, I can come over. Or we could meet up and go out to dinner."

Michelle smiles weakly, "You never know how a day at CTU will go. Are you free this weekend?"

"Yeah, I am." Though even if she were busy, she'd reschedule. "Do you want to meet up then?"

Michelle nods, "Saturday morning run? I probably should before I...can't."

There's a small laugh at that. "Yeah, that sounds good."

"I'll see you then," Michelle turns to leave but before she does, she gives Chris a serious look.

"Thank you...for everything."

And then she's gone, going off to sleep and then share the news with other people.
