Later, she wouldn't remember what they talked about. There wasn't much to remember, they both steered away from heavier topics, preferring to flirt and banter.
She wouldn't remember the car that cut her off as they neared the train station. She certainly wouldn't remember the rest of the drive. She wouldn't remember checking in at the bed and breakfast.
What Chris would remember was Jack's hand on her arm as she watched the car pass. She'd remember how often she seemed to laugh and smile, maybe she would have felt ridiculous for it but she was too happy to care. She'd remember the way she felt when they were finally in the room alone. The nervous excitement and this feeling of "finally".
That's what she'd remember.

"Oh God, Jack," she breathes against his ear, kissing and biting at the patch of skin just below it. Her hand slides back between her legs, she's close, she just needs a little more.

"Come on, Chris," he breathes, looking up at her as he moves beneath her.

He rocks his hips gently against hers as it carries him along. Finally he's spent, catching his breath as his heartbeat begins to slow.

Finally, feeling like she could collapse but careful not to, Chris lays down next to him, wrapping one arm around him because she needs the contact.
"Love you," she whispers, out-of-breath and eyes half-closed.

"Love you too," he says, kissing her shoulder. Even though it's not that late, he's wiped out, and he gives her a tired smile. "I don't feel much like going anywhere, do you?"

Letting out a long breath, he closes his eyes, listening to the rain outside. "Think I'd rather have a na--" a yawn interrupting--"nap, though." It had been an early morning, and a rather active afternoon after all.

"A nap's good." She supposes they could venture out later, if absolutely necessary.

The night isn't over yet, but that can wait; they have time.
