Chris didn't know why she was here.

It was almost five and still hot out, the gentle breeze making the heat bearable. Her dress suit was some light wool-silk blend that had left her cold in the office but was a comfort while standing under the afternoon sun.

She'd come from work, a meeting at Division and she'd been sent to represent District while the Director was out of town. On her way to work, she had passed by the cemetery where Jack was "buried".

Chris had never visited his grave before and wasn't sure why she was doing so now, she wasn't any closer to Jack here than she was at CTU. Perhaps, less so.

With a sigh, she laid the bouquets down. Both small, simple and white, one at Teri's grave and one at Jack's.

I miss you.

He pulls his hand back at her smile, grabbing another slice of pizza. Giving her a wry look, he takes a large bite of pizza. "Define 'interesting'."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
She rolls her eyes and sighs good-naturedly. "Interesting."

Taking a bite of her pizza, she continues, "Did anyone get turned into a mermaid? Did Amelia Earheart show up after her plane disappeared over the Pacific? It's Milliways. Interesting could mean lots of things."

Good and bad.

He shrugs, thinking. There's certainly one large thing, but he doesn't really want to discuss that at the moment; though it strikes him that she might already know, depending on whether she's talked to Kim much.

"Well in the bar-wide sense, there was a curse going around that made people break into song. I wasn't affected by it, thank God."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I was always partial to your rendition of Secret Agent Man," Chris giggles.

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
He glares at her. "I'll be sure to push you in its direction whenever you and it are in the bar again. Anyway, on a more personal note, Chloe is back in the bar. An earlier version of Chloe, I should add."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Her amusement dissipates with this new bit of information. "She is? From when? Do you know what happened to Chloe, before?"

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
"She's from about six or eight months from now, I think. And no, the later Chloe...she still hasn't come back. At this point, I don't think she ever will, really."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-06 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's nice that she came back," Chris says after a moment, though she's not sure if it is. They still didn't know what had happened to Chloe and she could still be in trouble.

"Did she say when she's from?"

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-06 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Specifically? March of next year, I think. And yeah, it's good to have her back. She might be from a year earlier, but she's still very, well...Chloe," he says, a lopsided smile creeping onto his lips.

She smiles a little at that and leans into the couch cushions. "I visited Tony and Michelle a few weeks ago. They have a really nice house. They're running a security firm now."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, Michelle was in the bar just after I got back in there. So they're doing okay?" he asks, a little of his eagerness showing through. It's odd, getting this news about his best friends second-hand.

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, they are." It was strange but seeing them again had reminded her of how much she missed Jack. "Their business is doing well. If our schedules ever line-up we might make Tony sit through an X-Files marathon."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
He lets out a low chuckle at that. "Poor Tony. I'm glad to hear the business is doing well, though. They deserve it."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
"He'll survive," she says, taking a drink of her beer. After a long day and little sleep the night before, the alcohol is giving her a warm, sleepy feeling.

"Besides it's not right, him calling himself a sci-fi fan and not liking the X-Files." Luckily, he has Michelle and Chris to show him the errors of his ways.

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe because an element of the conspiracy theories sounds a little too familiar," he says, teasingly.

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
She sighs theatrically. "You know, as well as I do, that the aliens our government are helping are green and don't plan to invade earth until at least 2020. It's completely different."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, of course, I must have forgotten after being out of the loop for so long," he says with a sarcastic smile.

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
She smiles, remembering some supermarket tabloid she saw last week. It had the "exclusive picture" of President Logan meeting with alien invaders. Chris had almost bought it for that alone.

"It happens. Just don't slip up around our would-be alien overlords."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
A sly grin. "I think I can manage that. I don't remember you getting this tipsy off one beer."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I know!" This was seriously ruining her reputation for not being a lightweight.

"I didn't sleep much last night and it was a long day. The only "food" at the conference was stale donuts and weak coffee."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I should have guessed; CTU isn't exactly known for providing the necessities. You should have some more pizza then, lightweight."

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
"I will," she says lazily, not budging. Getting the pizza would require moving.

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
He nudges her leg with his foot. "Waiting for the pizza to crawl over on its own?"

[identity profile] geeky-agent.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
With her flip-flop clad foot, she taps his leg back. "Maybe."

[identity profile] action-antihero.livejournal.com 2006-04-07 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Another nudge. "You sure you want to eat it if it does?"
