Morning

Chris woke with a start.

The memories of last night replayed in her mind and she was up and out of bed in a flash.

She padded down the hall in her bare feet she stopped at her dad's room and knocked on the door. Chris knew, logically, that he had to be in there. If the rest of this place were real than so was the part where she met her dad again.

Chris heard her dad as he moved around in his room and finally the door opened. There he was, still in his bedclothes and half-asleep.

"Hi? Is something wrong?" he asked with a yawn. A mumbled "'xcuse me," followed after.

She smiled at him and on impulse hugged him tightly. "I just wanted to make sure," she said with a self-conscious laugh.

Chris pulled back and her dad smiled at her before he asked, "Is it ok if I go back to sleep?"

"Yeah, sure. I'm just going to change and get breakfast."

He nodded and gave her a kiss on the forehead, "Ok. Talk to you later, love you."

"Love you too," she replied as she moved back into the hallway so he could close the door.

Chris headed back to her room, almost bouncing with each step.

First, shower. Second, breakfast. And then, I can explore this place a little more.
